Allatooner Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Hey guys! Stuck with a small car and no boat and need a baitcastin rod. Been pretty partial to St Croix for a number of years and use their 2 piece Avids for spinnin. Thinking about teaming a 2 piece 6'6" MF or MHF Premiere with a 200E Curado. Would that be a good multi-task setup? Is there another 2 piece BC you can recommend? Really appreciate comments by all. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 They work great as long as you remember to...... check the connection as you are fishing and make sure it is tight. I have thrown the front half of the rod when casting as I forgot to check the connection and tighten it. Lucky for me no one was around but I did feel like a dummy. ;D Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 Allatooner, been thinking about doing the same think with the same rod. Once and a while on the spur of the moment I want to hop in my car and run to the water somewhere. Or sometimes someone calls and says lets go. Not always taking the truck and boat. I think that's the perfect rod for me to do just that. Every time I stop at the local GM to check, all they have is m/m. Gonna have to just order one. Quote
Allatooner Posted August 22, 2008 Author Posted August 22, 2008 Right, that's exactly what I'm thinking...just keep it in the car and go!! I have the same problem, nobody around here has a STC MF or MHF....got any recommendations as to who online is trustworthy? Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 Is there another 2 piece BC you can recommend? Really appreciate comments by all. I would recommend this one: I have a spinning version of that one and it 's one heck of a rod for the money ( 12,600 yen ). It comes with a rod cover from the factory. To protect it even more you can purchase one of these, great tube for 20 bucks: Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 Is that the brand I see in T-rigs posts once and a while? And is there a chance you could convert the yen? I live a sheltered life. Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 I knew I saw it somewhere. Gonna go look for it now and see if I like. Thanks. Quote

My commuter car is a Hyundai Accent 2dr and I manage to fit my 6'6" and 6'8" one-piece spinning rigs in there along with my tackle bag, PFD, kayak dash, paddle, etc. Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 Don't get nervous allatooner. Our cows put there pants on one leg at a time just like yours. ;D. Don't hurt to look though. Quote

Besides cows don 't reed too good anyhow, they don 't know if u carry a Jap rod or a local one. Quote
