kickbasskid Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Here are my choices: #1 BPS Bionic Plus #2 Daiwa Procaster Tournament PT100 6Ib #3 Daiwa Megaforce Quote
thefishingone Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Daiwa Megaforce is a good reel. I can't really help you with your decision because this is my ownly baitcaster that I own and actually used. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted August 20, 2008 Super User Posted August 20, 2008 Any Daiwa® without a Twitchin' Bar Quote
kickbasskid Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 So I guess it is the Tournament or Megaforce now. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted August 20, 2008 Super User Posted August 20, 2008 I had a megaforce that a returned after a month or so of use. The drag started to slip and the thumb bar would not engage after casting. Same thing happened to the one my uncle bought, which was later returned. Several other guys here have had similar problems. I would not buy this reel. Quote
thatoneguy Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I LOVE my bionic plus baitcaster. casts great has plenty of power and I think is just an awesome reel for the price. I highly reccomend it. Quote
kickbasskid Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 I think I may go with the Procaster. Quote
CHAMPION203 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I had a megaforce I took back to the store a month ago. Seemed like something stripped inside. Got my money back and got a Quantum Energy PT, so far so good Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 21, 2008 Super User Posted August 21, 2008 Anything Shimano, like a Curado 100 or 200. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 21, 2008 Super User Posted August 21, 2008 Anything Shimano, like a Curado 100 or 200. Hmm... Seems like a good suggestion to me, too! 8-) Quote
Stasher1 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I'd pass on the Daiwa Procaster Tournament PT100 in favor of an older aluminum-framed Procaster 100H or a Procaster Rojo. Cabelas has the Rojo on sale for $59, which is the same as Bass Pro's price on the PT100. They were $90 at this time last year. Quote
Joe Boss Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 X2 on the Procaster Rojo. 9 bearings and aluminum frame for $60! I have a love of all things Daiwa. Quote
kickbasskid Posted August 22, 2008 Author Posted August 22, 2008 I really like the rojo so I think that may be my choice. I also like that it has a flippin switch. Quote
kickbasskid Posted August 22, 2008 Author Posted August 22, 2008 I am also thinking about getting the Fish Eagle Tournament 2 depending on how much money I can russel up today. Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 For the price of those i would suggest getting the citica on sale for $89 Quote
kickbasskid Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 I was able to fix my current reel but I may get the Citica as a backup. Quote
adclem Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I just got a Citica on-sale at BPs and all I can say is wow, what a difference between this reel and BPS Rick Clunn edition. It is an awesome reel especially at the close out price right now. Later, Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 The new citica is only 30 more then the one on sale i think to. sounds like I might be joining the shimano posee. I CANT BELIEVE IT Quote
