I use either the uni knot or double uni knot and have had no problems.  I am also using mono and braided line.

I also hear lots of people using the palomar knot, but have never tried it.

For a person who catches 8 and 9 pound bass all the time I am surprised you do not know about the Palamor Knot.

Look it up and learn to tie it for ALL baits.  :)

Man I wanna fish like you landing all those 8 and 9 lb bass on a spincaster and a overhand knot.

Ps. just playing with ya I wen't from a improved clinch to a palomar great knot.
