rumbal Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Hey guys! Has anyone used this bait? http://www.imakatsu.co.jp/products/pro_a033e.html Thanks. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 Nope, but it looks VERY similar to the GYCB Flappin' Hog: http://***/cgi-bin/order/FH-07 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 That "flappin' hog looks awesome! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 The Natural sent me a bag of Flappin' Hogs a couple of weeks ago (Thank You!). After fishing them a couple of times, I'm pretty sure this bait will become my predominate plastic trailer. I fish it on a 1/2 oz Micro Munch Tackle jig. If you like a BIG presentation, this might be just what you're looking for. On the otherhand, if it's a HUGE profile you're after, get yourself a bag of Double-Wide Beavers. Now we're talking SIZE! Super User Raul Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 Guess who ? ;D Actually here I 'm going to disagree with RW, it 's not similar to the Flapping Hog, same function different approach, the flaps in the FH are flat, the ones in the Dynagone are meaty and heavy similar to the ones you find in the Kinami Nories Bug and Ecogear Bug Ant. It 's pretty good bait with the nasty habit of tearing to pieces in an eyeblink, if you think GYCB baits suck when it comes to durability it 's because you haven 't tried Japanese soft plastic baits, and for the price and availability ...... If you want a Japanese soft plastic bait with more durability than those Dynagones try Ecogear 's Bug Ant, they aren 't exactly cheaper than the Dynagone but they are by far a lot more durable. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 Hey Raul! I defer to you. I have never seen the actual bait, it just looked similar in the picture. Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 Looking at the pic in the link: I admit that the flaps look flat, I also admit that I sometimes have more money that brains but ya know, the BaitMonkey made me purchase 4 packs the last time I placed an order of japanese stuff, The conversation went like this: BM.- aren 't you going to purchase some of those ? they look kool ! R.- Yeah they do look kool, but man ...... what ?!? are you out of your friggin mind ?!? ( stoopid question if there ever was one ) , you seen the price on those things ?!? :-? BM.- Hey look ! there 's some videos ! let 's take a look R.- Oh well, if you want so ..... :-/ And before I know it after watching the videos ..... BAM ! I got hooked > Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 Don't worry, so did I last winter after watching his videos. I have caught some decent fish while pitching laydowns and undercut rocks. I bought 4 packs, 2 liver and 2 watermelon coreshot. I use a nail weight with mine just like in the video. They fall away from you just like a Fat Ika when you rig them backwards. DYNAGONE 4" Quote
Super User T-rig Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 The Imakatsu Dyna Gone is great bait but like Raul mentioned they rip apart quite fast. At times you catch one fish and the bait is gone (Dyna Gone ;D ;D) Like Raul stated above, Ecogear baits last alot longer. Try some of the Deps baits, they last forever! From left to right: Imakatsu Dyna Gone, Ecogear Bug Ants, Ecogear Rock Claw (awesome bait in the cold months), Deps Deathadder Hog. Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 The only thing I hate of the antenna in the Bug Ant and Rock Claw is that them darn bluegills rip them away. And there you are casting your Bug Ant or Rock Claw, suddenly you feel taptap-taptaptap and you know from that moment on you are going to fish an antennaless bait >., oh well, same thing happens to all my tubes, skirted grubs and GYCB Kreatures and Ikas. : Quote
Supermat Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 WOW! I think I'm going to agree with Raul on something! ;D j/k, you guys hit this one on the head. The Dynagone is a sweet bait, its definetely chunkier than the flappin' hog, but it does tear up. Few things suck worse than sticking a fish and when you get them up there is no sign of the bait... over and over again. Quote
