snapper G Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Mine is the uni in mono and double Palomar knot in braid. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 15, 2008 Super User Posted August 15, 2008 I use the uni for all applications, sometimes I'll use a palomar for Tx rigging to have a minimum size knot for the sinker to hit against to lessen the possible damage. When I use tunsten weights Tx rigging, I'll snell the hook with a uni knot. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I use the palomar knot for everything. Quote

Stasher1 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I only use two different knots for everything, the San Diego Jam Knot for spinnerbaits and large crankbaits and the Palomar for everything else. Quote

bassbanger Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 i use improved clinch for poly and polymar for braid, and a uni for tieing 2 lines together. Quote
Certified Public Angler Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 braid - palomar knot always mono - a variation of the uni, not sure what it's called. I drew a diagram, maybe I never knew the name... :-? Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted August 16, 2008 Super User Posted August 16, 2008 Palomar. Works 60% of the time, alll the time. Quote
CookieMonst3r Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I use a modified Improved Clinch Knot. After I make my Improved Clinch Knot, I use the remaining line from my knot and tie a basic knot. This way my knot stops slipping. Quote
lubina Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I use braid/leader a lot and the Crawford knot had never given me any trouble, now I use it for everything even to tie fly leader and flys. http://www.stripersurf.com/knot_terminal.html Simple and strong Quote
BassinSoldier Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Palomar...If it's a bait that needs a loop, I add an O ring, and tie a palomar to that. Greatest knot ever for night fishin too, I can tie it without looking. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 17, 2008 Super User Posted August 17, 2008 Palomar for everything. Even spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Uni-knot to attach braid to mono on reels. And that's about it. Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I use the palomar knot for everything. x2 x3 x4 Quote
adclem Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I really like the uni knot, especially when doubled up. I have yet to try the palomar knot but am going to try it out. Looks a lot easier to tie. Later, Quote
Andrew Coleman Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I like to tie the improved clinch for everything, I can tie it in like 10-15 seconds, never had a not failure yet. This place is pretty cool for learning new knots: http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php Quote
