BassinSoldier Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Lookin for a new rod to pair my zillion with. I am lookin at the zillion rods, but was also lookin at the airrus puls-r and loomis mossy back. I'm lookin for a rod around 6'8"-7', MH or H. I have a 6'6" MH I used to use with toads with no problems so I kinda want to have this rod as a toad/all around type rod. Any opinons? And how good are the loomis mossybacks compared with other loomis rods? Thanks! Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted August 19, 2008 Super User Posted August 19, 2008 I have a Zillion on a Dobyns 704C for those exact uses. The outfit gets the most work as my Horny Toad rod, but I use for larger plastics as well. I love that combo... Quote
wisturkeyhunter Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I got a St. Croix avid mh 7 foot fast action with a zillion and its a good rig. Quote
The_Natural Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Gotta go with the Zillion; it will fish as good as it looks (which isn't easy) 8-) Quote
Bass Pro Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Gotta go with the Zillion; it will fish as good as it looks (which isn't easy) 8-) What he said.. The Zillion rods are better than the mossy back and puls r's combined. Quote
fragged 3d Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I use the list below when I use a worm and they all seem to be good! St. Croix Avid E21 Carrot Stix Daiwa Zillion Quote
snapper G Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Use a 7 foot rod with a lot of back bone so you can pull your fish out of the weeds and get a better hook set. I prefer a MH action reel, the best brads I've used, Abu, Shimano, and Quantum. Bill dance, has great rods for toadin' and wormin' , not so much the reels though, great price too! Quote
