P-Line Evolution

I just picked up a spool of this.  I fished it and liked it a lot, but then I read on Bass Pro shops website that it broke on them a lot on the hookset.  Now I have seen some crazy things posted on Bass Pro about products, and most of them I do not believe.  So, I was wondering if you guys ever had any problems with P-Line Evolution?

I had 2 spools of 12# test that I threw away because I had way to many break offs.

Man that sucks, because that line was really smooth and casted great too.  It also had low stretch.  I haven't had any break offs but I do not want to take any chances.  P-Line flouroclear is reliable right?

I have used 12# and its castibility is excellent. However, like many other pline products it has memory up the kazoo.

It has not broken on me and I have a buddy who swears by this line.  Whenever I read, oh my line broke on the hookset, I take it with a grain of salt. Why? Because more often than knot (pardon the pun  ), I am more inclined to think it is more a function of angler neglect or a poorly tied knot.

The only line that has failed me without even fishing with it was Berkley's Poof... Uh, I mean vanish, because that is what your lure will do.  Virgin line, carefully tied three different knots and each time the line broke before line ever got wet.  This was in 8# or 10# test.

Same thing the line breaks at hookset. If you want to use a P-Line I have had great success with CXX.

I've used it and have never had any breaking problems. 15# on a baitcaster and 8# on spinning gear.

I do prefer CX Premium, a little more manageable.

I agree with Islandbass that the line does cast well. I too thought at 1st it must be my knots so I was more careful tying them but still had a problem. I have been fishing for over 60 years & not having a knot problem with Yo-Zuri, Gamma, or Pline CXX so I changed line. I had bought that line when it 1st. came out so I thought a bad spool maybe so I waited about 3 months and bought a 2nd spool from a different store & had the same problem. I also contacted Pline about the problem & never received an answer. They could have at least said Thank You but no one else is having a problem & you need to go to knot tying school 101. So now I no longer use Pline. By the way I have read where quite a few people were having the same problem. This was a while ago & maybe they have changed something. It cast great & you already have a spool so use it. If you have a breaking problem change line. Good Luck.

dunno bout the light stuff but the 20lb+ is money for heavy apps!

When I first started using it I loved it that is until it started breaking off on me. I don't think that I've ever had a line break off more than that did. I tried to contact P-line about it but they never responded great customer service.

Thanks for the responses guys.  Ok yeah I think I am gonna stop using this line because it  broke on me when I was just tying a palomar knot. I really do not want to take the chance of breaking off a good fish.
