luckyinkentucky Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'm looking for a more organized way to store and transport my tackle. Right now I have a BPS Stalker bag, and a BPS XPS Pro 370 tackle bag for hardbait transportation, and a Quantum tackle bag for the various worms I use. When I'm not on my boat I take everything out of the bags and store it in a big chest of drawers that I am using strictly for tackle storage. The problem I have is that I can't find a tackle container suitable for my crankbaits. I want one that will hold from 16 - 20 medium to large crankbaits, so I can easily keep them organized on my boat when I'm fishing. Right now I use various Plano 3700 series boxes for my cranks, but find it hard to do with some of the larger cranks with longer bills. In the worst case I only have 6 cranks in one box since the bills are so long, and they total around 6" or sometimes more. In this box I find that there is a lot of wasted space since I don't use the total space available. Does anyone have any suggestions? Quote
Jake. Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Have you looked at the Falcon Takle Organizers? A little overpriced, but they work great. Quote
luckyinkentucky Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 I have several of the Falcon Jerkbait organizers, but didn't know how the crankbait organizers would do. Are they good? Quote
Jake. Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I have a few of the "small crankbait" boxes. No problems at all so far. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 The Falcon organizers are the best. I wish they weren't so expensive, but they definitely waste the least amount of space. I'm slowly moving from the standard 3700 boxes to all Falcon-type boxes, but this will take all winter probably. I also need more lures ;D Quote
dman Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I just got the Falcon Spinnerbait box and was considering the Crankbait boxes but these are a lot longer than the standards... Are their tackle bags that can fit these Falcon boxes?? Quote
Bob Kavanaugh Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I use the Bass Pro XPS double sided crankbait box. I keep all of my cranks and jerkbaits in there. I bet I have 60-70 lures in it. As a bonus, it's on sale right now. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=62287&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Despite the reviews, I've not had any problems with the latches. hammer84 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I use this box also. The only problem I have is that fat cranks won't fit. I have a couple big wiggle warts that don't fit in the grooves. BTW, I have had no issues with the latches. I use the Bass Pro XPS double sided crankbait box. I keep all of my cranks and jerkbaits in there.
