John J. Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Absolutely! I have an eagle fish-finder 480 softpack. It is portable and comes with a suction cup mount which you can suction the transducer to the hull of your jon boat and have the unit sitting in the boat. Here's the product... http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0017744016586a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=portable+fish+finder&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=portable+fish+finder&noImage=0 You can even read my review on this product. It is on the second page, the top (Number01hunter from Orange, Va). This product got really good reviews and for me it works perfect! PS: Welcome aboard! Quote
tntitans21399 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 There is a couple of different main ones made for being portable. Their is different mounts for different fish finders but most of them you can have them so they are portable. I use a Humminbird Smartcast for my kayak. You cast the sensor into the water and the display get the signals wireless. It runs of batteries, but has hook ups for a main battery and transducer, but I use it in my kayak. The display folds down and has handle that you can carry it easy. The wireless sensor isn't the greatest but if you had a transducer it would be a great little portable fish finder. Just look around and find one you like, their is plenty to choose from. Here is just a couple that Bass Pro has on their website to give a idea, then you can go from there. -Humminbird PiranhaMAX 210 Portable Fishfinder -Humminbird Fishfinder 535 Portable Just look around and try to go to some where like Bass Pro and see their actually displays. That wat you can see how good of picture & features they actually have and you can find one that is what you can looking for. Quote
moloch16 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 There are several units you can buy in a 'portable' form. They are usually mounted to a built-in battery pack and come with a suction-cup tranducer that is easy to install and remove. I use the Portable FishMark 320 Quote
