Looking to see what all of you use for skipping jigs and plastics under docks? Looking for a spinning rod just for skipping. I know Fenwick makes a skipping rod that is 5'10 they say the shorter the rod the easier to skip i been skipping with a 7'3 spinning rod. Looking to get something smaller. What action are best for skipping in a spinning rod.

I actually have a custom made Lamiglas 5'4" spinning rod with somewhat of a MH action, I had the rod made back in 1991 so I cant remember the specs. The rod is amazing, my daughter uses it now for live shinners, I almost sold it this year but after fishing with it a few times I remembered exactly why I had it made. I've caught several 5lb+ with it.  G.Loomis has a couple under 6ft in thier spinning series but nothing ina MH. I like the MH for this style, this was why I had it made, for the dock skipping purpose alone.

the rod has some serious backbone, I've pulled some big bass outta some tight places with it and never a problem, docks, thick weeds, out from under some heavy lilly pads, I used it for alot of different applications too, and it handled them all well. Im no pro but I like the rod.

I use a St Croix Avid AS60MF. I would not want any thing longer than 6'.

My dock skipper is a G. Loomis SJR 722 IMX. It's a little lighter power than the rods already suggested, but I like a little whip in the rod for skipping. You can't beat it. IMHO
