Super User ww2farmer Posted July 7, 2008 Super User Posted July 7, 2008 Yup, they are great, I own 3 of the casting rods. Best decison I ever made reguarding a rod purchase. All 3 of mine are the pre 2008 full rear grip versions, got them when they put them on sale for $150. Quote
mike bat Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 now i have to get the tube ,,, i was thinking of that finess rod .... but the tube sound like the rod i need .... ;D Quote
HopelesslyAddicted Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 What a coincidence this is the exact rod I was looking at. What do you guys think I should pay for this? Quote
Ultraman Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Speaking of the dock skipper, does anyone have the 5'10 skipping rod from the legend tournament spinning series? (LTBS510MXF "Skippin") I have the 6'9 drop shotting rod and it's unbelievable how sensitive it is Quote
bronzeback01 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 mike bat st croix told me that the tube rod is the closest thing to an all purpose rod in that series that's pretty much why i went for it. Quote
The_Natural Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'M REALLY GLAD YOU LIKE IT....THAT IS A NICE ROD. Quote
mike bat Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 yea i thought you told me that .... ill be getting the tube ,, i really liked the fact the rod was 7ft long .... i cant wait to get my hands on one ... ;D Quote
mike bat Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 hey bronze ,,, what line are you running on that rod ??? also have you hooked into a biggun with that rod yet ... i bet that rod really fights the fish good .... Quote
rfrazier Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'm finding myself leaning towards st. croix from now on. Love the feel of all their rods. Quote
bronzeback01 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 I,m running suffix elite 8lb test mono , it casts like a dream. sunday i caught a 2lb bass and a 3 lb pickerel but nothing big yet. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted August 9, 2008 Super User Posted August 9, 2008 I just got the same rod after upgrading from a broken Avid. I have to say, I really love the split grip, the light weight, the extreme sensitivity and the action and power of the rod. If I get another spinning Tournament, I would probably get the LTBS63MXF / Shakin' rod for something with a little bit stiffer tip for shakey heads Quote
