Big_Bass_Rock Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I really havn't used these much, as I only had one or two, but I just recieved a bunch of different styles and colors from *** and I want to start experimenting with them. What ways do you guys find the best for rigging and fishing soft plastic crawdad baits? T-rig? C-rig? Weightless? As a jig trailer? Quote
Super User grimlin Posted November 3, 2007 Super User Posted November 3, 2007 Jig trailer mainly for me. Quote
Jake. Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I only use them for jig trailers. I have tried them Texas Rigged in many diferent situations, but with only minimal sucess. Quote
Big_Bass_Rock Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 When you guys use them as trailers, do you use a plain jig head or one with a skirt, or does it really matter? I just organized all my gear and I set up one rod with a rig and crawdad trailer that I play to use when I go out next week. Quote
Super User Tin Posted November 3, 2007 Super User Posted November 3, 2007 I usually fish them as a jig trailer, but I really like the Paca Craws and the zooms ultra vibe speed craw's texas rigged. Just pitch them into the holes in mats of grass and such and they work great. If you use a weight heavier than a 1/8 oz. it gives the claws a lot of action. Been one of my go to's this year. Quote
Jake. Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I use this jig, in the 3/16 or 5/16 oz. size. Black and Blue. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=51623&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Quote

Big_Bass_Rock Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 Alright thanks guys. Jake, I just bought some similar looking jigs to the who in your link, so I'll try it out. Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 Larger craw worms Texas Rigged a deadly year round, Paca Craws on Spot Remover jig heads are deadly during pre-spawn/spawn. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 I use them mostly as jig trailers but like them trigged in brush piles. Quote
Davis Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I'm going to give the Paca Craws a whirl on some Owner Standup jigheads as well. But I also plan on using them on a long shank ball head as well. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I like using the little GYCB ones (pumpkinseed especially) t-rigged around lily pads. You can work them over the pads then let them sink once you get to the edge. I've had some really good days with this method. I prefer chunks for jig trailers. Quote
Big_Bass_Rock Posted November 5, 2007 Author Posted November 5, 2007 You sent me some of both the Dadz Craw and Beaver Craw Quote
Big_Bass_Rock Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 Alright I'll give it a shot. I'd have to go check again but I'm pretty sure I have both sizes of the beaver. Quote
IllinoisBasser Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Those Beaver Baits are good looking, So is the Fork Craw, looks like a great trailer. Quote
