stay with fluorocarbon with Senkos.  That stuff should work fine.  Try a few brands out and see what you like.  They are all a little different.  I personally like sugoi the best but it is more expensive.  I will use P-Line when I don't want to spend that much.

May I suggest:

Spinning reel presentation - 8 pounds.

Baitcaster presentation - 10, 12 or 14 pounds depending on the cover and structure you are fishing.

Consider using a weedless hook presentation if you are in heavy cover or structure attached to the lightest test line possible.

Remember, you want the Senko to sink at its own rate and flutter downward and you do not want a heavy line to interfere with the downward flutter.

Same is true for the wacky rig where you want the Senko to fly like a bird as it sinks.

I use 8 pound on spinning reels and 12 pounds on baitcasters.

Consider YoZuri lines when you are once again in the market for line.  :)

i always used the Berkley vanish line at 8 lbs but with all the weeds and lily pads that i fish lately I'm trying the fireline crystal line at 6 lbs and its got a 2lbs diameter and so far i absolutely love it.the biggest difference i noticed was its castability of it.....

Sam I agree with your statement "Remember, you want the Senko to sink at its own rate and flutter downward and you do not want a heavy line to interfere with the downward flutter."

That is why flurorocarbon is best because its sink rate is faster then nylon monos and can keep up with the sink rate of the Senko better. The nylon monos exert more drag in the water.
