mfo Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 what does everybody think is the best spinning reel for smaller lures priced under $60.00 thnx mark Quote
AaronH Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Pflueger President 6730 or if you want a really nice ultra light setup the 6725 Quote
njbasser Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 i have a Shimano Sahara, 59.99 new about a year ago. On sale for 49.99 at Cabelas and ***, im pretty sure they are at Dicks as well. Shimano Symetre (dont have one but have heard great reviews) is on sale for i believe 69.99 if you would consider higher, from what ive heard the symetre is a big step up from the sahara for a (relatively) small sum Quote
Super User Muddy Posted July 28, 2008 Super User Posted July 28, 2008 Well I jumped ship on Pflueger Bait casters in favor of BPS Extremes, I am very happy with that choice But after trying the BPS and 2 other brans I have to say hands down The Pflueger Preidents and Trions are the best valued reels under 60 bucks Quote
bronzeback01 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I like the pfluger president & the abu garcia cardnal 100 & the 500ALB Quote
VolFan Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I second the Shmano Sahara, I have four right now and rarely use my other more expensive ones. Quote
Bayou Bass Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Yup I would have to say Sahara. I have the larger 4000 that I use for inshore saltwater and I love it. My wife uses the 2500 Sedona which is nice, but the bale acts up from time to time and it is not as smooth. Quote
detroit1 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 A few good buys out there (as stated), i would add that don't go smaller than a "2500" size. The spool is too small in diameter which causes mayhem with line twist, etc. I love my Trion. Quote
