Super User Redlinerobert Posted July 27, 2008 Super User Posted July 27, 2008 Been busy with work so I've not been able to post any pictures of the upgraded JDM Daiwa BBS. Needless to say I am very pleased with the results. Here is how the reel started out life. Nice, but pretty basic. And this is what it looks like now. Anodized the tension knob, Steez drag star and crank collar, replaced the crank with a JDM Steez carbon 90mm arm, replaced the black grips with clear coated cork, added 4 bearings in the grips, replaced all the bearings with upgraded units, and put it on my new Megabass White Python. Super User firefightn15 Posted July 27, 2008 Super User Posted July 27, 2008 Looks sweet! Question. I always wondered if the rework was akin to rebluing firearms, or if it is some kind of anodizing? Thanks. ff15 Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted July 27, 2008 Author Super User Posted July 27, 2008 the pieces were stripped down and anodized. If anyone is interested in having this done I can get you all the contact information. Glenn, when you come visit, I'll make you a drink. Quote

WIII-60 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 it's reminds me of the fast and the furious. Those cork grips are a pretty sweet touch. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted July 28, 2008 Super User Posted July 28, 2008 Absolutely stunning reel my friend. Those anodized pieces turned out really good. Looks great matched with the Python. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 28, 2008 Super User Posted July 28, 2008 How did you get that scratch on it? Quote
moby bass Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Beautiful, but I'd be afraid to use it. I'd want to just park it in the garage and look at it. ;D Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted July 28, 2008 Author Super User Posted July 28, 2008 This setup will get plenty of scratches and nicks. That's not a problem. Quote
