Elite Image Fishing Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Just purchased the Daiwa Megaforce with the twitch'n bar. Looking for a good flipping rod to pair it up with. I am on a low budget, but want a quality product. Any help is greatly appreciated. Quote
Evan Pease Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 If your on a low budget you might want to get a rod you can do several things with. I would suggest a 7'0" rod, MH F. You can flip, pitch, or cast with ease. For a specific brand/type I would go with a TD S rod. My daiwa rods have taken some abuse and they run around 100.00. I guess I should mention a megaforce looks pretty sweet on a TDS Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I bought a Megaforce about two months ago, my first LP baitcaster, and paired it up with the Daiwa Procyon 6'6" MH and I love it. Like I said this is my first real baitcast set-up, but already I love the reel and that rod is tough! I paid about 60 for each I think Quote
Aaron Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 You could probably find you a St. Croix Premier 7' MH F, for around a $100, that would be great for light flippingg, pitching, jigs, t-rigs and c-rigs. I don't own this rod but have messed with them in stores and they feel very solid. Quote

Great rods for the money. Quote
Gr8wall Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 anyone here with a megaforce ever have problems with it not comming lubricated from teh factory? i was at a tournament and noticed mine started to squek and squeel and my boater told me that it was non lubricated like his was (mine is brand new and that was the first time it was fished). Just wondering. Quote

Just wondering. I was in the same boat as you. I just got my reel recently on the 16th and when I was fishing it the same day I noticed it squeaked and squealed a little every 3 turns. Just by some reel oil and it will fix her up. Quote
Gr8wall Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 i do not konw how to add oil to the reel. is it as simple as just opening it up? reel mech told me not to with my viento so i figure the megaforce is the same way. thanks man Quote

Just wondering. Reels come that way sometimes......Sometimes they come over lubricated.... Just use the lubrication chart provided with the reel. Crank paddles, spool support bearings, and spool shaft end shims (one drop of oil). Do not open up the crank side of the reel unless you have done it before... Tight Lines!!!!! Quote
