Finding out value of old wooden plugs

Recommended Posts

Hey Fellas: My friend Mike found a lot of old wodden plugs in his dad's former house. They are unused and in the box! Is there a book that helps with the value of these plugs . Don't think it's a good idea to ask a dealer as they may lowball him and try to buy them. I have no expertise in this area and he asked if i could find a source for him

Thanks

Hey Muddy, there is a guy in Bass Master Magazine. His name is Karl White. He's written a couple books on antique tackle. His web address is karltwhite.com, phone # 405-277-3636. Maybe he can help.

I love antique lures.

I have bought several over the years.

Problem is I can't not fish them.

Fortunately I never spent big bucks on one, but I think it is the coolest hobby.

I love going to antique shows and ogling the lure collections.

Go to a local Barnes and Nobels they sell this little pocket book of antique lures. They have 100's of lures descriptions and pictures. The book retails for around $15. I was tempted to buy this little book for yard sales and so on. It ranges from couple bucks for a lure to over 10,000. Call the Allentown barnes and nobels and ask them if they have any antique lure books.
