I was just wondering what the best all around line is. I've really only used mono (big game) so i was just wondering if there is another type of line or another brand that would be better.

No, probably not a "best", just "favorite".

Mine is Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft, but if you

browse back through this section, you will

find plenty of other suggestions.

There 's no such thing as "the best line" there 's only a favorite line, mine has been Trilene Big Game for over a couple of decades. Not that I haven 't tried others.

I use PowerPro braided line for everything except crankbaits (unless I am fishing crystal clear water, which isn't often).

PowerPro is tops with me.

I really like Gamma Co-polymer line, but it is kind of pricey.  I also like the yo-zuri lines and Suffix lines.  Just try different ones and settle on one that fits you.

I use Sufix Elite and Trilene XL for just about everything except jigs and some soft plastics. They've never given me a reason to change to anything else.

Trilene XL has served me well for over twenty years. I've tried other lines, but always go back to my trusty XL.

P-Line CX Premium. It is a very soft line which is perfect for spinning reels and its amazing for crankbaits and spinnerbaits. I use it for jigs and soft plastics when i am not using braid for grass or fluorocarbon for deep water say 15ft +
