i have finaly decided on a quantum pt tour edtion spinning rod medium/heavy fast action 8-17 1/8-3/4 for every thing but my worms. should i buy a 6'6 or 7 footer. ihave used 6'6 and are real happy but ive never had a 7 ft is there any real advantage to these but distance on casting any ideas thanks jason

7 foot advantage = longer casts and more leverage.

disadvantage = less casting accuracy and heavier tip weight.

I use 7 foot for almost all of my fshing. Like dodgeguy sad the leverage is an important factor. I get similar accuracy from both but thats probably because I throw a 7 more.
