Hey guys its been a looooong time since I have been on the site. I am out of touch on the recent posts, so I apologize if this is a repeat.  I recently bought a Bass Pro shops Nitro rod and reel combo.  I plan on using it to fish think weed mats and brush, I was wondering what you all suggested I use for line?

Thanks,

Anthony

i'd go braid or heavy co-poly, to me flouro has a lil too much stretch for close quarters, the Nitro reels are made specifically to handle braid as well, throw some 50lb suffix on that piece!

50-65lb braid depending on the cover you're fishing. Very heavy weed mats, I'd go to 65, especially if there's trees and what not.

Only time I use heavy fluoro it's 20 sometimes 25lb fluoro, and it's for heavy pressured smaller reservoirs for flipping and pitching into tules. Doesn't cut through as nicely though.

You dont think you lose bites with a high vis line?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you do , use a black magic marker on the last 5 foot of the braid.
