Trent, B Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 The line on my shimano curado is slipping when I set the hook on a fish. I have 30 pound power pro braid spooled on it. I read in others posts that to fix braid from slipping on hooksets to add tape to the arbor. So my question is were is the arbor located, how much tape do I apply, what kind of tape is best? Thanks in advance. Quote
bowtech_182 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 The arbor is the spool that you wind the line on to. If you put a couple wraps of electrical tape around the spool before you put the braid on your slipping will stop. Instead of tape I spool just enough monofilament so when I add 75yds of braid my reel is full. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Instead of electrical tape, I prefer to use "friction tape". It is essentially vinyl electrical tape but coated with rubber on both sides. Works like a charm.... Don't tell anyone. http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/auto_marine_aero/aerospace/node_GS4YL03HCMgs/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSNNJ6NQDKge/bgel_GSNYN6WYRFbl/gvel_3R0J9QPN38gl/theme_us_aerospace_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html We used to use it on our hockey sticks...
