i need help picking out 3 rods and reels please any suggestions

iam new to fishing and made a rookie mistake and bought all kinds iof stuff i cant use because of my skill level ive tried to learn baitcasters but dont like them i need sugestions for three spinning rod and reel combos i would like middle of the road quality i am not going pro and some reels that cast nice and are reliable. i am in nh and dont catch big fish yet but iam hopeing to catch a keeper and i fish from a boat 90% of the time.  thanks for any help it would be huge for me. jason

I suggest starting with one rig that will do everything for you. Buy a 6 1/2' or 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action spinning rod and a reel that fits your budget. If you want specific recommendations, tell us what you are willing to spend.

p.s. If you browse back through this section, there are hundreds of threads with rod & reel suggestions. However, just state a price range here and you will have a number of recommendations in short order.

Roadwarrior has the correct plan for you.

Don't give up on the baitcasters just yet. Set up an area in your yard and practice with them. I think you will find that you will come around pretty quickly with them.

If you are fishing from a boat be sure to set up a platform that will put you above the ground that is close to the same as it would be from the water in a boat to get the correct casting angles.

Like RR stated I'd like to see you start with one good setup and go from there.  I'll go one step farther on the recommendation.  Get a Shimano Symmetry in the 2500 size and a St. Croix Avid rod if those fit into your price range.  It will be a lifetime combo if you take care of it.

price rang is about 125 a set up and iam willing to buy used. i bought a daiwa theory 4000 for $40 on ebay 12# test 6'6 cabelas im6 rod it dosent cast as nice as a 15 year old daiwa my father in law gave me. i guess what my question is if i take that daiwa and put it to a heavy action 7ft rod for jigs etc. what should i do for a worm, spinner and and crank bait set ups. ill proabably switch out to a  heavy line on mydaiwa 4000. but i really like useing the yozouri 8 pound test(thanks road warrior). as for the bait caister my hand eye codrination is so poor i just cant get the hang of it. thanks guys for all the help

Substitute spinning tackle with the same ratings for the baitcasters I suggested.

Stick with a baitcaster, don't give up. Get a spinning set up so you can fish the rest of the day if you backlash bad, but stick with baitcasting!

It will get easier and easier in time.

Why not save money and educate yourself in the use of bait casters

I would get a BPS Extreme spinning combo 6'6" or 7' M action Woo Daves rod. You can also substitute a shimano sahara for the extreme reel for about the same cost.

Put your yozuri on one spool and put  30 lb sufix braid on the spare spool. This will allow you to fish any situation for just about any freshwater fish.

The M action extreme is the perfect all around rod. It has enough tip to toss light baits and has a ton of backbone for lifting some monsters out of the slop. You will be very pleased.
