Cabelas seems to have a sale every month or two. Does anyone know if there's one (fishing) sale that's better than all the others?

I don't know a whole lot about Cabela's but it seems to be a lot like Bass Pro and they have a huge sell every Spring.  I would imagine that Spring is probably the best time to find the biggest sale.

No, I used to think the same thing about the BPS Spring Sale, but the truth is, both companies have sales ALL OF THE TIME. The best thing to do is drop buy, watch for their catalogs or browse their internet website. Whatever you are looking for will probably be on sale sometime during the year.

p.s.

Unadvertised, in store only items pop up and can surprise you. I don't know that dropping by actually saves money overall (that monkey is tricky), but it can save you money on particular merchandise.

They really do have a lot of things for sale in store all the time.  Those bargain bins are awesome.  I also like checking the ends of isles for other cheap goodies.  I think I am slowly talking myself into wanting to go to Bass Pro.  Stupid expensive gas.

I realize that Bass Pro has sells for every occasion but I still think you get the best deals during the Spring Classic.  Thats when some of their better items become much cheaper.

I don't really have a favorite. I buy from both. Both have sales on a regular basis. I really try to hit local shops when I can for various items. I also tend to lean more toward Cabelas because I don't pay tax when buying from them. They don't have a retail store anywhere in TN.

I also find some great deals at Academy Sports. They tend to be around .50 cheaper on say a $6 lure than Cabelas or BPS.
