Super User Micro Posted May 19, 2008 Super User Posted May 19, 2008 SHWEET! Finally a cool looking American-market reel that isn't a Daiwa. I will add one of these to the collection ASAP. Revo Toro Notice the marking says "Toro HS." "High Speed." Now look closely at the drag - "6.?:?" That's where the Revo has the gear ratio emblazoned. It also has a high-capacity spool. So, does this mean there's a cranking-speed version, too?????? The body design is a little different, too. What are those ribs on the gear housing?? Wonder if the overall size is a little different. And a new Cardinal, too... Quote
LakeAnnaBasser Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 that is a sick reel.i might need to look into one Quote
Super User 5bass Posted May 20, 2008 Super User Posted May 20, 2008 About the gear ratio on the handle seat....when BPS put up the first pics of the Revo S models, they had 7.1:1 on them. It was strange because they didn't sell a HS S model. This looks to be a slight play on the KVD and Code reels that just came out this year. Quote
Super User Micro Posted May 20, 2008 Author Super User Posted May 20, 2008 To me, the ear housing looks a lot beefier than the current Revo. Also I notice the name: "Toro 50." I wonder what the 50 means. I wonder if there is a yet a bigger or wider model in the works. (The mind boggles ) When I saw it, the first thing I though was "Zillion." Quote
wickyman Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 It looks beautiful! I wonder if anyone complained about the plain look on the older revo series? lol I hope it performs just as well, and doesn't cost a fortune! If it's above 130 dollars, then I won't be getting it... Cheap old bass pro shops reels for me, in that case... lol Quote
smallfry Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 My guess is the 50 denotes size, like on the Record 50. Think they'll have a 40 and a 60? And I don't see the similarities between the Soron and the Flooger... Quote
oldschoolbasser Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 You should see the Revos they have for the Japanese market! Google purefishing/japan,and then click on abu garcia. The also have some sick rods. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 To me this reel looks like it's going to be a step up from the Revo line in performance and price. If the naming 'Toro' means this real is going to be a bull then this reel should be able to handle some pretty hefty tasks. Judging from the gold plating on the tension knob, line guide and other "ugraded" styling I'd go out on a limb and guess this reel to cost more than an STX. I really don't see ABU adding another line of reels in the $100 - $200 range when they've already got the revo line. The really look nice though. I'm going to have a hard time not pulling the trigger on this one whatever the price (within a reasonable limit). Just as I was ready to pull the trigger on a Morrum they have to come out with this. : Quote
Super User Tin Posted May 22, 2008 Super User Posted May 22, 2008 I like the spinning reel, they need to get going on their spinning reel line. Quote
Super User Micro Posted May 22, 2008 Author Super User Posted May 22, 2008 Just as I was ready to pull the trigger on a Morrum they have to come out with this. : I have two of the EXT Pros. They are Morrum'ish. Extremely nice reels and they will cast a light bait with ease. I highly recommend the EXT Pro. Quote

Back on topic I'm in agreement with Tin about the spinning reels. I'd really like to see some better spinning reels from Abu that don't cost an arm and a leg. I really like the look of the new one here just hope it doesn't cost a lot. Quote

Big-Bass Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I saw on another site that the name "Toro" might actually be "Torq" but the q got cut off a little. Who knows. It still looks cool! Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 i want one no word on when they come out. I was going to get a revo stx but i guess ill wait and check these out Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted May 23, 2008 Super User Posted May 23, 2008 I won't be buying one from that site though. I checked out the other reels that they sell and they are way over priced. But that new Revo is going to look nice on a couple of my Dobyns Rods. Quote
Big-Bass Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 ***.com has both the Skeet Reese and Winch (Torq) reels in stock! Quote
Super User Micro Posted May 23, 2008 Author Super User Posted May 23, 2008 ***.com has both the Skeet Reese and Winch (Torq) reels in stock! There it is - brutha! I knew a cranking Revo had to be coming - the rumors were correct. Good looking reel, too. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCABUGAR-AGRW.html Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 its a different reel then the one you showed a pic of before tho. Quote
.Paxamus. Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I am already thinking about one of those new Winch reels. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 So I'm guessing the Winch is just a US version of the Toro? Quote
