guitarkid Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Are bonjo minnows really worth the trouble? Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted October 28, 2007 Super User Posted October 28, 2007 Flukes work pretty much the same way and are more productive and easier to rig. Quote

FivePoundBluegill Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 A long time ago a friend gave me some of these lures and I never caught anything with them. Maybe I was just bad at useing the bait. It seemed like you were supposed to use them the same way as a fluke yet I hammer bass on flukes and have caught absolutely nothing on these banjow minnows. I would suggest picking up some bass assassin or zoom flukes instead. They are much better lures from what I have experianced. Quote
deep-cranker Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Banjo minnow is just a scam and it's over priced cheep plastic. I have tried the dang things a bunch of time and never cought a thing. Take my advice. Dont wast your money and stick with the flukes. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I've caught tons of Bass on the original Banjo. Can't comment on any of the new stuff. In my opinion, the original Banjo has more "wiggle" than a Zoom Super Fluke....just from my observation. I fished a Zoom fluke a bunch of times this year and it seems stiff compared to the Banjo.... Flame suit on.... Quote
Red Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 i used to use the banjo alot years ago...i caught a few smallies on it, no LMB, but let me tell you...the northern pike will hammer that thing all day long.....but make sure you have plenty...between the cheap plastic and a pikes mouthfull f razors, they dont last long Cliff p.s. the only walleye i ever caught in new york state was on a banjo minnow...it was just over 5lbs...also my PB walleye, never did catch one bigger while living in MN Quote
Guest Wiimote_Angler Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I'd buy it if they had a way to replenish it. Something like not buying a new kit every time and something like having a zip lock bag with just the plastic and maybe enough rigging pieces for only one setup. I'd like that. I still never tried it, but I do like the way the tail is made for swimming and the fact that it has eyes. I can't find many plastics with eyes or even eye accessories for plastics. Quote
