CookieMonst3r Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I'm looking forward to trying out some Buzzbaits and spinerbaits I just bought but need advice on what type of knots to use. Help? Quote
Red Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 i use the improved clinch (cinch?) on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. the palomar for everything else. Cliff Quote
weknowhowtolive Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I'd be curious to know as well. I tie a palomar on pretty much everything unless i do a reverse cinch on something very small. Its worked for me but seems to slip on spinnerbaits. Quote
CookieMonst3r Posted June 9, 2008 Author Posted June 9, 2008 I usually use palomar or improved clinch knot, but it seems as if they would slip. :-/ Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 10, 2008 Super User Posted June 10, 2008 I use a Palamor Knot for everything I can. It may take a lot of line but I feel more comfortable with the Palamor. I use this knot on buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and treble hook baits. At least you know you have a good, secure knot at the end of your line. Quote
basser89 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I have all the confidence in the world in the palamor and use it almost 100% of the time. I like the fact that it uses a little more line (especially when I need to retie). Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are no different when it comes to the knot I tie. Quote
Garnet Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 All these knots will slip on spinnerbaits and buzzers. Get some shrink tube, cut a smal donut and shrink around the r bend. Garnet Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 10, 2008 Super User Posted June 10, 2008 I tie a Palomar, but I have been experimenting with the Sixteen-Twenty Knot (also Called Duncan or Pitzen Knot): http://206.210.94.83/assets/recommended_knots/pdf/fhf_knot_sixteen_twenty.pdf 8-) Quote
KvD Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I ise Palomar for everything... ive never had a problem with it "slipping" on my buzz/spinner baits.... Alex Quote
