supreme Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Basslovers & ST Croix AVID owners I have to make a decision really fast. What is the best Spinning Reel for my ST Croix Avid 6'6" MH spinning rod. My options are the SYMETRE 2500, Pflueg-Supreme 8035, or the OKUMA Inspira isx 30. what to do what to do. I will use this set up for mostly plastic & some jigs. Quote
Davis Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I would go with the Shimano. I put a Pflueger President 7035 on mine because I didn't have the money last year to put on a "higher end" reel. But for a cheaper alternative it feels great on the rod and does a very good job. Something to consider. Can't go wrong with the Shimanos though. Learned that very quickly with there baitcasting lineup. Quote
JKay Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Shimano Symetre. I have a few of them in 2500 size. Built to take abuse and still run smooth. I have them spooled with Yo Zuri #6 Ultra Soft and it's a nice match with my 6'8" Avid. Quote
supreme Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 I ended up buying the STRADIC 3000FI reel for $130.00. I think i'm set till I get the bug again for a 7' foot M or MH spinning rod for all around fishing. any sugestions Quote
