tipptruck1 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Ater a fews years of fishing yo-zuri hybrid I gave it a shot. I thought I woud never go back to mono after useing hybrid. This stuff as got me sold. I don't see my self going bock to yo-zuri. If I got a backlashit was east to get out. The line lays in the reels smother. As for casting distance there was no differnce. My buddy was using braid and I could only cast maybe a foot or two longer. It also ties great. All I can say this is great line. Quote
hawgchaser Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Are you using Seige or Elite. I put some seige on a spinning rod and does well but does not cast as well as Trilene XL. It is MUCH stronger though. Quote
MNGeorge Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 We tried Siege on spinning tackle and hated it. It was very wiry and constantly jumping off the spool. 4 of us tried it and we all hated it. The Elite seems to be much more manageable and still is durable. Quote
GABassin Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I had 6 of my tournament reels spooled with siege and it broke in the middle of the spool for no reason on 3 of them. I loved it until that point but just watchout for that. It cost me two much needed fish. Quote
basser89 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I've been using Suffix's braid for a couple of years now and decided to give their mono a shot this year. I've been using Elite and like what it has shown me so far. It casts well for me, is very durable and abrassion resistant. I've been spooling my reels with Berkley lines as long as I can remember but I may switch completely over to Suffix on all my reels (well with the exception of the rods I have spooled with fluro). GABassin Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 What # test are you using on your soft plastic rods? I had mine spooled with 17 and had the problems I did and am wondering if the spool I got was just a bad spool because I really liked it's castability and its low memory. Quote
KvD Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 i baught some of the siege in 12lb camo today to learn to use my new baitcaster... once i learn i plan to swap to the performance braid... also got 330 yards for $8.50.... Alex Quote
tipptruck1 Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 I was using sufix siege. I got 12lb test for jerk baits and top wter plugs. Then I got 8lb for the crankbait rod. Quote
Dawson Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I have yet to find a better line than Sufix Elite. I tried Yo Zuri Hybrid for a month on a few of my baitcasters, and it did not have the abrasion resistance that the Sufix does. I like both the Elite and the Seige, but if I could pick one it would be the Elite. It casts super smooth, low line memory, and super strong. I am a Sufix man for life! Quote
tennwalkinghorse Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 I like both there braid and mono seige works well on both my spinning and bait casting gearJMHO Quote
