The_Natural Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 There were two pics leaked of the New E series Curado, but one of them has been earased! You can still see the lefty version, which is a mirror of the righty. It is touted as being smaller and lighter than the 100D, with 200D line capacity and HEG gearing. Somebody on Tackle Tour found an online retailer that has already listed the new E series models on their website (they show 'out of stock' obviously until they are officially released). You get to see the different models and prices though. Package Quantity: 1 Model: CU200E7 $139.99 Out of Stock Package Quantity: 1 Model: CU201E7 $148.99 Out of Stock Package Quantity: 1 Model: CU200E5 $139.99 Out of Stock Package Quantity: 1 Model: CU300E $194.99 Out of Stock Package Quantity: 1 Model: CU301E $206.99 Out of Stock Package Quantity: 1 Model: CI200E $92.99 Out of Stock Package Quantity: 1 Model: CI201E $98.99 Out of Stock Quote
The_Natural Posted June 1, 2008 Author Posted June 1, 2008 Oops! I see that micro posted this pic a week or so ago. Oh well...now you have the model and price list. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 1, 2008 Super User Posted June 1, 2008 The lefty is more than the righty? IBTSS Quote
The_Natural Posted June 1, 2008 Author Posted June 1, 2008 What's the CI vs CU stand for? The 'CI' is the Citica Quote
Super User Micro Posted June 1, 2008 Super User Posted June 1, 2008 It's a good looking reel. Looks VERY open on top. Quote
The_Natural Posted June 1, 2008 Author Posted June 1, 2008 I'd be ticked if I bought a Curado D for $200 and then they release a new model that is much improved for $139. I guess we should all be happy. Quote
nralover Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Anyone have a ballpark on when they will be available? Quote

shimanogloomis man Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 i think that reel looks bad @ss love the look ;D Quote
Super User islandbass Posted June 2, 2008 Super User Posted June 2, 2008 Yep. Seen it. Don't particularly care for that shade of green. Makes make like the battle ship gray a little more now. ;D Quote

Granted it is peace of mind to know a reel is made in Japan where craftsmanship is very high, but I will pass judgement when I fish with one. I don't own a Curado D...are D models made in Japan? Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 2, 2008 Super User Posted June 2, 2008 I know the 100's are made in Japan, don't own a 200 Curado. I don't see a $60 decrease in price as an improvement. Corners will be cut. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted June 2, 2008 Super User Posted June 2, 2008 Looks like there's no crankin' reel for us southpaws. Quote
TheBeast Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Looks like there's no crankin' reel for us southpaws. I have a 201DPV I bought in Feb. when they had the $50 rebate (which I still haven't seen) that I will most likely be selling and replacing with a Revo Winch. I have only used this reel about a dozen times and is in new condition. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted June 2, 2008 Super User Posted June 2, 2008 I think it's a sharp-looking reel, including the green color. 8-) I'll wait until I can read a test or hear some info from real-world experiences with the reel before I pass judgment on it. Until then, it's a Shimano, so I'm excited. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted June 2, 2008 Super User Posted June 2, 2008 Ladies and Gentlemen.........The future REVO slayer!! Yeah right. Oops, I forgot the Curado D 100/200 are presently doing it. Quote

Super User Micro Posted June 3, 2008 Super User Posted June 3, 2008 Abu will be updating their website this summer. I sent them an email a few weeks ago about some other issues invovling their website and that is what they told me. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 3, 2008 Super User Posted June 3, 2008 I suspect the new CuradoE7 will knock your socks off! It will probably be comparable to the CH50MG, one of the finest reels ever made. Competition is great, we all benefit and the newest equipment will be better AND cheaper! Is this a great country, or what? 8-) Quote
