heathen Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Just wondering what everyones favorite hard suspending jerk bait is? I been mainly using Lucky Craft Pointer 100's. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 23, 2007 Super User Posted September 23, 2007 The Pointers are my favorite, too. However, I also fish the Rapala Husky Jerk & X-Rap, as well as the Smithwick Rogue on occasion. Quote
CJ Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Smithwick Rattlin' Pro Suspending Rogue is my favorite.I do tune these with a section of a suspend strip. Quote
basspro48 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I use Husky jerks, x-raps, and rogue's on occasion, but my favorite and most productive is the Lucky Craft Pointer 100 and 78. Quote
Guest avid Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I have been fishing with hard bass lures long enough to know that all lures aren't created equal. I don't mean when comparing a squad minnow to a pointer. I'm talking about when you go to the tackle shop and see an enitire row of identical baits. For some reason, one in fifty or maybe a hundred of the identical bait is a standout. It will flat out catch fish. I have one of those. It's a lucky craft pointer 78 in chartreuse shad. I dipped it into some chartreuse spike it. It came out a sort of sickly green, but wow do it catch bass. The only other time I'm aware of having a bait like this was a heddon dying flutter. It was an unbelievable fish catcher. It may still be swimming in the jaw of some really big bass. Wellllllllllllllllllllllll not really seeing as how it broke off close to 30 years ago. Anyway, over the years, I have bought the exact same lure maybe a dozen or more times. NONE has even come close to my first. And yes, I tuned the props and every other thing I could think of. See my sig. ciao avid. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted September 24, 2007 Super User Posted September 24, 2007 Review of my favoriteDan LOL I just ordered that plus 2 other Jackalls earlier today. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted September 24, 2007 Super User Posted September 24, 2007 Lucky Craft Pointer in American Shad or Shell White. Quote
skillet Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Used Rouges for a long time and liked them, they still have great colors. It seems lately that I have a really hard time getting them to work worth a durn even a fter trying to "tune" them. I guess I'll have to say Husky Jerks. Have never had a problem with one (actually any Rapala)... As Ever, skillet Quote
Super User T-rig Posted September 24, 2007 Super User Posted September 24, 2007 Review of my favoriteDan Yes, they sure work! I also like the Pointers and the Megabass Vision 110 (slow floating). Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 X-Rap and LC Pointer, equally. Sometimes one seems to outproduce the other, but they are both amazing baits. The thing I like about the X-Rap is that it's a little cheaper, but with that I also need to tune X-Raps more than the LC's. I've been looking at some of these crazy Japanese jerkbaits, and they look pretty awesome. You can see some pretty crazy ones on: http://www.ichibantackle.com/ Quote
Jake. Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Lucky Craft Pointer in "Ghost Minnow". Quote
detroit1 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Rapala husky jerks are my favorite, but also have a few rouges and bombers. I have 2 Rebels with nice paint but not worth tying on. I would like to try some Lucky craft, but i won't pay that much and nobody is giving those away... Quote
bass109 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 good choices MEGATRON, i prefer the LC staysee over the pointers. rapala original floaters are always good. X-rap deep 10 is better for spring and fall. Quote
Shadcranker Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It's a tie- 41/2 in Supending Rogue - LC Pointer 100 If fish are more aggressive- I'll throw an X Rap. Quote
johnbr19792003 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 yep pointer 100 in the rainbow trout color. It sucks losing 20 bucks to a pike though.. Quote
basspro48 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Pointer 100 and Pointer 78... However, when spotted bass and smallmouth are present a slender pointer 112 seems to work better. Quote
Cory20 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 small- X-rap husky jerks 10 and 12 and pointer 100 Quote
