Little Luey Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I have been thinking about using flourocarbon for my dropshot rod, but I am not sure which brand to get, I am thinking to get a 10-12lbs test. What do you guys/girls use? Quote
SoCalRob Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 If you're fishing smaller baits in clear water, you should go down to 6 lb. or 8lb. floro. Just be sure to set your drag appropriately. I would check out P-Line Halo or Seaguar floro. Quote
Little Luey Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 I am using 4in roboworms for my dropshot. thanks for the reply. Quote
Bass XL Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 For dropshotting, I would go no heavier than 8 pound. Quote
Little Luey Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Well, I got some P-line on 8lbs test, I will give it a try and see how I like it. Quote
Super User Tin Posted June 4, 2008 Super User Posted June 4, 2008 I like trilenes 100% flurocarbon. Yup, in 6 or 8. Quote
njpaulc Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I'm probably the only person in the world who does not have a problem with Vanish. That being said, I currently use 8lb mono for dropshooting. Quote
Willzx225 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I would use 6 or 8lb 100% Trilene but another line I have used and liked a whole lot for drop shotting is 6lb Trilene Sensation. It has less stretch than mono but is easier to manage than fluro. I use both at different times. Mainly Fluro for deeper than 20-25' and Sensation less than 20'. Quote

I have been using 8lb for dropshooting but I like to see if there is a better line for me out there. Quote
