Trilene 100% fluorocarbon

I can't control this line.I find myself tighten the brakes and cast knob and this line still jumps(losing distant big times).I'm giving up on fluorocarbon altogether.The most manageable line i've dealt with was the BPS XPS fluorocarbon...it was the only line that gave me the least amount of problems.

Only thing i like is the sensitivity of the trilene line.That's where it shines the most.  

Is seaquar invizX any better?This is the only line i haven't tried that i want to before i just give up on fluorocarbon.I really like my fluoro for slow jigging techniques.

I tried InvizX for some time on a baitcaster and spinning rod. It was decent on a baitcaster, out of control on a spinning rod. I never really liked it. Very stiff and springy. I gave up on it and fluoro all togeter. I think Yo-Zuri Hybrid (co-poly) is a great alternative to pure fluoro. I little stiffer than mono, but much more manageable than fluoro. Very little stretch and great sensitivity.

yeah,thanks to RW he's already turned me to yo-zuri hybrid ultra soft for spinning...i love it.Starting to make sense in just putting it on baitcasters as well.

I have 12lb trilene flouro on my jig and worm rod. It has been working decently for me, with some occasional backlashes. I also have yo zuri hybrid 12lb test on another rod, and I definately find that more manageable

While I don't have any experience with the Trilene fluro, my experience with Berkley's flurocarbon (the Vanish line) has steered me from even trying the Trilene brand. I use BPS's XPS fluro (most 10# on crankbaits and 17# on my spinnerbait rods). I do fish a few bodies of water that are clear. Using the flurocarbon does help my hook up percentages. If it wasn't for these couple clear water bodies, I'd probably just stick with a lower stretch mono. I will add, that I don't have any issues with BPS' XPS fluro (in either # test I use).

If you do have these clear/gin clear bodies of water and need to take advantage of the flurocarbon, you may want to try using it as a leader. Just a thought.

kind of surpised to hear that.I use the 12lb trilene and love it.I did think I was losing a little distance though so maybe it wasnt just me.

basser89 - THE VANISH is easily the most horrible line I have ever bought.I found that it got very weak within a couple of outings of use.I couldnt get it offf my reels quick enough.I tried the new 100% trilene in march and the same stuff is still on my reels-and I fish almost every day.I would highly recomend trying it before you give up on fluoro.

Yeah, I found the same thing out with the Vanish! Although, my last experience with it on my reels is when I tried Vanish Transition. First outing after I spooled it up, I lost 3 or 4 spinnerbaits just by casting (and I wasn't even loading the rod up).

Like I said, with the clear bodies of water I fish, I won't be giving up on the flurocarbon! I'll just stick with the XPS fluro. I have the most confidence in it!    The other issue is, most of the local tackle shops near me, don't have a very good selection of # tests (from what I can remember). Gives me an excuse to hit Bass Pro too!  ;D

2 years ago, I was at a fishing expo and talked to Marty Stone (he doesn't have a line sponsor). He uses 2 different flurocarbon lines. The one is a high end (can't remember the name of it) but also uses the XPS.

Trilene 100% Flurocarbon is my #1 go to line for just about everything now. I still use mono for topwaters, and braid for pitching,flipping, frogs, and as my main line for c-rigs, but I have fluro. spooled on at least 8 reels now in 6,8, 12, 15, and 17 lb.

I'm going to give fluorocarbon a little more time before I go back to mono.  I bought some KVD line conditioner yesterday and tried it on the fluorocarbon (BPS Excel) today.  I couldn't tell that it helped any.  I am going to try spraying it on the night before next time.

I used Power Pro braid for casting crankbaits for the first time today.   Our water is typically pretty stained or muddy, so visibility isn't a problem.  I caught a couple of bass on a deep running crankbait and was pretty well satisfied with how it performed.

I have my Chronarch Mg spooled with Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon (12 lbs) and have been pretty impressed with it so far.

Trilene 100% Flourocarbon treated with KVD line conditioner is the first flourocarbon I've ever been able to fish with without constantly backlashing.  So far anyway, I have no complaints with it at all.

I'm using 15 lb test....Still having problems.Trying to cast  3/8-1/2 jig with a trailer...I should have no problems casting this on my baitcaster.I'm clueless...everybody seems to love this line.I don't.

I love trilene's XL,XT and Trilene Big Game though.

I use the Trilene 100% in 12 and 15lb on several rigs, and it is the best fluoro I have tried.  Granted, Berkley's last go at it with Vanish sucked balls.
