Braided line

Ive never used braided line but lately have been hearing some good stuff about it. Im thinking about putting some power pro on and was wondering what the main technique is for braid. (jigs, spinnerbaits, etc.) Thanks

For anything where more abrassion resistance is needed except chunk rock bottoms ( chunk rocks cuts braided like a knife ).

My main application for braid is on my spinning reels for smallies when I'm throwing crankbaits and jerkbaits on the Potomac (walleyes and muskies have hit them before and I have a much better chance with them without them cutting my line). For me, the only other application that I am considering using braid is for heavy cover flippin and pitchin.

Power Pro is a good choice, I've heard a lot of good things about it! My perference is Suffix (mainly because of availability but it is a great braid, IMO).

I agree with Basser89 on Suffix...although I have never used powerpro.  I also really like using it for topwater because you have so much less stretch when you launch a Sammy into next week and have fish blow up on it more than 50 yards away.

when to use: whenever you are so fed up with dealing with tangly mono/flouro line! , whever you want less stretch, more sensativity, and abrasion resistance

what to use: 30-50lb powerpro depeneding on what reel you put it on (30lb is 8lb diameter, 50lb is 10 or 12lb diameter)

what to use on: anything!

Most ive heard its for is Topwater,expecially froggin so u can horse em outta weeds and jiggin for abrasion and gettin the fish out fast.Ive used Spiderwire before and love it!

Topwaters, jerkbaits, and pitching into heavy cover. If you are doing any kind of slow presention NOT in cover, use a leader. Braid will absolutely limit your bites on anything but really muddy water.

I use braid for texas rigs, carolina rigs, topwaters, and jigs.  If it's open, clear water, I'll uni-to-uni splice some mono or flourocarbon on there as a leader, but that's only about 2 ft long.  I prefer braid because I can fish it aggressively and I don't have to worry about stretch, water logging or abrasion.

I will agree that it's risky to use around chunk rocks, but in any other situation, it's the best you can get, providing you can get away with it due to water clarity.
