I'm still curious as to exactly what "advanced nano carrot fiber technology" adds to the structure of this rod blank. Also, what was it before it became "advanced", retarded or merely "challenged"?

It 's stronger right under the decal where it says Advanced NANO CARROT FIBER Technology.

BTW Burley, if that 's your lawn you need to sharpen them lawn mower blades.

That is one nice looking reel for sure.  Since the Carrot Stix came out I have wondered about their sensitivity.  I just don't know how much vibration carrot fibers transmit.

I'm surprised you boys didn't have it out Sunday.  ;)

I definitely held it...a bunch.  He had a topwater tied on and after he found out he could only cast that rope about 20 feet, he put it down and didn't pick it up anymore.  How's that Premier?

That thing could say it was made from specially blended grizzly bear pubic hair and I would still use it  ;)

I like my parabolic rod...not the best rod ever, but worth every penny so far.

I do like mine a lot, tried the parabolic with the Steez 103 and the Alpha Ito, can't tell which one, then got with the Crazy Cranker ....and the same.

It is a rod out standings!!!!!!

I am not sure if it is a gimmick but anything with words like "space age polymers, titainium reinforced, or nanotechnology" has always screemed as seen on tv junk.

I started to think about nanotechnology and remebered that it is an actual science and not some infomercial tag line.  Several products use nanotechnology like tennis balls and racquets, fishing rods http://www.rodsbyairrus.com/rods_n_sync.html,  sunscreen, glass, and scratch resistant coatings.

I really wonder if the carrot stick uses nanotechnology?  If anything, the use of Carrots has gimmick all over it and it is not like for anyone in the fishing product industry to use a gimmick to sell something.

Cumara out, Carrot Stik in.

I wonder if these carrot fibers will last ... they are organic and organic stuff decomposes over time...I wonder if they'll come out with a celery stick...I hate those fibers as they get stuck in my teeth all the time...seem pretty darn strong too!

I've fished with mine for 2 months now.  Compared to my GLX's....

On a scale of 1-10...

Weight  10+ (lighter than any rod I have held)

Balance   10 (VERY balanced...floats in your hand)

Guides   4 or 5 (I hate these guides...seems to produce friction)

Sensitivity 7 (middle rod market good, but you can't discern different bottom mediums or anything)

Anyone see the E21/Carrot Stix commercial? Freaking weird! A rod commercial on ESPN, not during a fishing broadcast but regular old sportscenter.

I've not fished the d**n thing yet, but that is (and was) my only knock on the rods.

I did throw TheBeast's 6'6 MF for a bit today in the parking lot of his shop. It felt quite nice even with a wrong-handed STX on it.

If I end up liking them, there might be a few  ;)  more in my future.  :-[

NANO Techology.

Sounds like something Robin Williams would say in the old "Mork and Mindy" TV Show.

In fact, didn't he say that in one show?

Thank you!

This is the first review I have read with perspective and direct comparison.

Very helpful.  All of the reviews on the Carrot Stix rave about its lightness.  However, the feedback on their sensitivity has been mixed.  Your feed back helps provide better perspective.  It was especially helpful in that you specified where the sensitivity differed from the GLX.  Thanks!  ;)

All fishermen's yards should look like that.
