Dawson Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 St. Croix vote here. Although the Rick Clunn is awesome too. I have never fished with the other two. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted May 27, 2008 Super User Posted May 27, 2008 the clunn has fuji sic guides.can't beat it in this price range. Quote
coolhandlala Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 The croix you mentioned is basically one step up from a Wal-mart model. The Clunn I was told by several people at bps is a piece of crap. That leaves the falcon, all star, and Van Dam. Any of these three would be great but I would rank the them based on the company they are made by and their reputatin. #1 Falcom Lowrider-- Awesome sensitive rod #2 All Star-- close second to Falcon #3 Van Dam-- I am always wary of buying somethng with a pros name on it. Chances are he doesn't evan use that exact model. #4 St. Croix-- Yeah it is a St. Croix, but really how much "croix" can they put into a $100 rod. #5 Clunn-- I have owned 3 BPS rods and all three have broken in the first year of use. I will never buy nor recommend a BPS rod ever again. When it comes down to it they really are all good rods. Find the one YOU like best. You have to get what is best for YOU. Quote
deadeye32. Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I personally like the rick clunn rods compared to the others, the only downside is that it feels a bit heavy. Quote
KvD Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 im thinking about this rod as well its by far the cheapest and have been rccommend to me by a bunch of guys at work that use them... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=59070&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Alex Quote
bowtech_182 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I have 2 of those extreme rods and am happy with them. They are not the best of the bunch, but for the price they are very good rods. Quote
emti56 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 i use both the premier and rick clunn now and love both but will continue buying st. croix rods have used the all stars and seams to heavy good luck Quote
