I was going to order a shimano Mg51 last week but they were out of stock at that store. I decided to wait and think it thru further. I'll be using this reel with a quantum tour edition PT 7ft med. heavy action rod. Most likely texas rigging worms, tubes, etc. mayble some light jigs. I'd like the versatility of being able to throw relatively light baits in the wind (I live in the northeast) and being able to throw a heavier texas rigged worm too. I was also thinking about getting a curado 101D instead of the mg51. Do you think the extra $50 is worth it? Or any other suggestions in the $200 range? Thanks alot.

I think you will be glad you spent the extra money on the CH51MG.

I have both and I would go with the MG. The key being the MG throws light lures better than the Curado, IMO. I was fishing in windy conditions this weekend and I had no problem casting a 1/8oz rigged wacky worm with the MG. You can also have a new MG delivered to your door for around $210 on ebay.

I have also gotten several new 50MG's from ebay stores to my door for $205-$210.

I think the 50/51MG is well worth the price difference to the curado.

Thanks guys. $205-210 delivered huh? Wow, I should check out ebay. Any recommendations on ebay stores to get it? I was gonna order it from ***.com but they were supposed to come in yesterday but never did and don't know when they're coming. I'm kinda glad now tho. I'll check out ebay. Thanks alot!

I own both reels and have a hard time picking out which one is better the MG is lighter but not by much- if you find a deal on either one jump on it- cant go wrong either way if $50 is a big deal get the curado if not still get the curado- In my opinion.
