Does anyone think this will happen? Seems to be getting harder and harder to get. Aboot the only place left I've seen is Cabelas.

I just bought 2 600 yd spools of #6 just to be safe. This stuff is very affordable in my mind.

I've felt the same way.  It's getting pretty scarce here too.  I've been worrying about this for a few weeks now.  God, I hope it's not going anywhere.

I have NEVER seen it anywhere except Cabela's. I just thought they had some kind of exclusive marketing rights to it. I have enough to last awhile, but will stock up if it's being discontinued.

Boy, I sure hope not. Took me forever to finally settle on it, after giving up on mono. Worried several members to death on what they used and why :-[. Like it way too much for them to quit making it. Sure don't want to go on another "Great Line Hunt" ;D!

Always took it for granted that Cabela's had exclusive rights (or really juicy pics of the pres. :)), you sure can't find it around here...

i'm pretty sure you're right ronnie, cabela's has exclusive rights to carry the ultra soft. at least that's what i've heard.

Not unless that is a new arrangement. I've seen YZ US at Gander Mountains up until the beginning of this month...

For a recommendation, I have found Silver Thread (regular and Excalibur ) to be pretty similar to YZ US.

I just checked the Yozuri website and they still list Gander as well as Cabelas as retailers - along with some others in my area. Here in adsion, Wis. they just closed the two Ganders and opened a new one just outside the city because Madison bans hand gun sales. The old stores had Yozuri lines but the new one (just opened a couple of weeks ago) does not. Even the sales clerks were surprised it was gone when I asked where it was. The two Cabelas in Wisconsin are quite a ways from Madison and no one else in town seems to carry it anymore. I guess I'll check the online sources. Anyone know where I can get it online? Cabelas, I presume, anyone else?

The clearance bin at the Gander in Baxter, MN had from 2# to 15# yesterday.  They no longer have any 6#, I got the last of it. There is plenty of 10# and a few spools each of 2, 4, 8, 12 and 15#.  If you ask your local Gander, they will have it shipped from MN to you or you can call the Baxter store yourself to have it shipped to your house.

I have done this before, so I know they will do it.  Baxter store phone number is: 218-828-1736.  Be sure to specify the Ultra-Soft, because there is a lot of the regular Yozuri in the clearance bin too.

I'm kind of surprised RW has not responded to this yet.  I bet he knows if this is really happening or if it is just a "shortage" that is going around. :-?

Sorry guys, I don't have a clue, but when I last questioned the company about who carried the line, they responded that fish307.com carried all of the Yo-Zuri products. Hybrid Ultra Soft is listed here:

just wanted to make sure you guys knew that if you bought the 1 lb. spools of 6# test yo-zuri hybrid ultra soft at cabelas ($60), that's 8,000 yards which comes out to less an a penny a yard and will last you a looooong time. if you bought the 600-yard spool, it comes out to 2 cents/yard.  ;D
