Ok, last sunday I wasn't doing anything and instead of just sitting around wasting the day away, I decided to head over to Bass Pro Shops to see what I could find. Alright, I got into BPS and started walking up and down the asiles. I checked out a few close-out st. criox avids. but decided against, didn't really have what I wanted left on the shelf. Then I strolled over to the reel counter, spun a few reels, but nothing really caught my fancy. Then, on my way out I managed to survive the asiles of "essentials". I looked at, senkos, crankbaits, spinnerbait, etc. with not one of those items staying in my hand. As I walked past the cashier without stopping, that is when it hit me. This was the first time that I had ever been in BPS and walked out with nothing. It was a very strange feeling. It was a feeling of sadness, and a little bit of shame and embarassment. :-[

I must have been feeling a little under the weather or something. I guess there is a first time for everything. Anyone else ever walk out of BPS empty handed?

I did once.  I walked right past the checkout, went to my car, opened the glove box, retrieved my wallet, and headed in to pay for my stuff...   :P

I don't have a BPS, but I have an overpriced local tackle shop where everything is more expensive. I can't even walk out of there empty handed, so if I had a BPS, I doubt I'd walk out with even under $100 worth of stuff.

Went to the new Cabelas here in CT last night and walked out with nothing.  But it was only because I was going to pick my brother up and go straight back to Cabelas.  We went back and I didn't walk out with nothing that time.  Bought a few lucky craft deep diving pointers that were on sale for 8 bucks, some plastics, pellets, etc.

I don't think I'll ever walk out of there without some product, just on principal.

Nope. I have never ever walked out of any BPS empty-handed. As a matter of fact, I have never walked into one! FYI The closest BPS to me is over 1000 miles away in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  :-/

I only have a Dicks Sporting Goods by me. Never have I walked out empty handed. The best that I ever did though was walk out with only one pack of Fat Ikas. I was a proud man for standing up to the bait monkey that day. Usually I'm dropping at least 50 bucks.

If we actually get our BPS store here in Buffalo than my wallet is going to be hurting.

Do what I do, the nearest BPS is only a two hour flight away. ;D

Or like my friend Pedro and I did two months ago, we are already in MacAllen .... how many hours away is San Antonio ?  ::P

Yep several times.

I even walked out of the headquarters in Springfield MO without buying anything.

Okay Buddy, I'll vouch for ya...

He went to BPS and bought nothing.

He was in Mexico on "business" and didn't drink any Tequila.

In Las Vegas he didn't gamble.

And at the Gentleman's Club he played cards with a couple of friends.    ::P

Ah, ya beat me to it. I think the closest one to me is about 500ish miles away. I did walk out of a Cabela's once without getting anything. They were out of what I went in there for, and I didn't have time to look at other things (they were closing).

I always leave with something. I guess thats because I have to drive 3 hours to get there and I sure wouldnt drive that far just to look around the joint.

I go to BPS with a purpose.  That means if I go in, it is a sad day for my check book.  I have to drive a couple of hours to get there so I usually make a whole day of it.  So I tend to stock up on things I can not get locally.  It is a sad and sick disease.  I can't wait for Cabelas to open up here in Indy.

Thanks, Raul! I'll keep in mind that no matter how far away I am from a BPS, there are others here that are even farther. How's your pixy these days?

I go to BPS only for things I cannot get at Wally world or the net cheaper.  I look for sale items first and then new fangled things that will only be there.  Checked out Dicks Sporting and they have a good store also.
