joshmb1999 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I searched the forums and didn't get much at all about this reel. Does anyone have experience with it? With such a strong pro staff, why isn't this one talked about more? I just bought one through the flea market and I'm wondering how those of you who have tried them like them. Quote
muskyxl Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 ive got one in the 7.0:1 burner ratio...i love it, its smooth, lite (not as lite as the steez, but heh...) and fast. im using it to burn cranks when needed. the big thing i love about it, was the fact that a person can find these for a steal. if memory serves correctly i paid 130 for new in box off of ebay. it doesnt hurt that it is a nice looking reel. hawgchaser Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 People either love Quantum gear or hate it. I have only briefly fished with a tour edition but it was a great reel. Most people will agree that the performance of quantum reels is good. The knock on them is durability and quality control. I bought 2 codes this year and have been very pleased. Hopefully they will last. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Yea, when I wanted to buy mine I couldn't find much info on the forums, though it does seem like a lot of people are hating on Quantum stuff. I have the tour edition in 7.0:1 and I absolutely love it. The thing casts a mile and its extremely smooth. muskyxl is right, you can find em super cheap on ebay. They aregreat reels, anyone who doesn't like theirs can PM me and I'd be more than happy to take it off their hands . Quote

quant PT Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I have 3 Energy PTs. I think the only difference between them and the Tour is the bearings in the handle. I have had no problems with mine. Two are 6.3:1 and one is 5.1:1. I love these reels, and for the money ($129 after rebate) I don't think you can do much better. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 14, 2008 Super User Posted May 14, 2008 Quote The knock on them is durability and quality control. And that's why you have people "hating on them". Quote
