hayden76 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 has anybody used these snakes i just bought some but have not had a chance to use them yet. I've used his snake heads back in the day and they worked really well so i thought these would work too. :-/ Quote
mayassa Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 They look good in the video, tell us how you like them after you fish them, and welcome aboard! Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 In other posts people said the snakes melt very easily, but they look like they'll work on big bass. Just keep them out of the sun Quote
Bassboy15 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 To be honest I haven't heard anything positive on these boards about them :-/ Search Hannon Snakes in the search engine here on BR and see what you find... Good Luck Quote
dman Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 i think back in the late 80's he had his original Snakebait out.....It worked great for triggering strikes but tough to get hooksets Quote
bocabasser Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 his snakes suck. overpriced rubberbands. if you want a snake that really works, go to delonglures.com and get yourself one of theirs for $3.95. i have caught more fish over 5 pounds on a delong snake, and they last a couple of fish. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted October 22, 2007 Super User Posted October 22, 2007 I bought some too. For $40. I got the 2 CD's and a wealth of information along with the baits. I've used them a few times, but have yet to catch anything on them. Our season is now Fall, so I don't think the snakes would be as effective now. More of a summer time top water scenario in thick stuff. I'll give them another whirl come next spring, but I still keep hoping they will be worth their cost. Right now, I have them in the vegetable keeper in my fridge. Hope the wife doesn't find out! Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 22, 2007 Super User Posted October 22, 2007 I haven't really seen the reason to buy one, personally. I have topwater lures that perform fine in vegetation (frogs, toads, etc) and really haven't had a day where they wouldn't do something. Frogs are big fish lures too...and they are a proven lure in my book. I won't fix something that isn't broken X2 Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted October 23, 2007 Super User Posted October 23, 2007 I said it before and I'll say it again. THEY SUCK. I gave mine to Senko77. I hope he can catch bass on'em. Quote
The_Natural Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Doug Hannon is a respected guy, so a lot of people will refrain from saying...but these are on par with the flying lure or the Chuck Woolery Motolure. Actually...I'd take the flying lures over the snakes. I have read probably 50+ posts of people buying them, and not one review where an angler was successful and recommended them. I want to know ONE board elder like RW, Glenn, LBH, etc. that have actually purchased them. I don't know how you can look at the ad and actually think "Man...I can't believe no one thought of that! That's the niche in my topwater arsenal I'm missing!" Give me a G...I...M...M....... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 23, 2007 Super User Posted October 23, 2007 I don't own them, but would like someone to post a story about the fish they have caught on this bait. Perhaps there are some situations where The Snake has been very productive. Anyone? Quote
