Super User Micro Posted March 27, 2008 Super User Posted March 27, 2008 Until I got rid of the reel - Revo Premier ($500) and Johnny Morris Elite ($350) got total of $850. I know, I know. But I spent double on the rod and reel because I wanted it to be twice as good. Seriously, though, right now it would be my JM Elite reel on my JM Elite rod. About $400 total. Quote

Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Penn International 130st on a custom bent but 130lb class custom rod $1350 each......x4 But for the little fish, my most expensive would be the custom that Flechero built me. Next clos4est would be a $49 spidershaft with a Pflueger president. Although the big gear is necessary for Tuna you plan to sell, I cant bring myself to spend big $$ on a fish that just about any set up can handle. Quote

StCroix_207 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 yeah like i said...tough winter. The fiance' didn't like it too much, but she's over it now. But I figure...spend it now, and I'll have all summer to enjoy it. I'm just glad I bought my boat two years ago, before I met her! She would have flipped! All this spending will have to come to a stop though, I told her when I turned 23 I would buy us a house...me and my big ol mouth! Quote
Super User Alpster Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 Sadly, I have to make my own rods from parts lying around and I buy all my reels on the board flea market & ebay. Ronnie Quote

Redtail Posted March 31, 2008 Author Posted March 31, 2008 WOW! And I thought I was bad, lol. Lot's of really nice equipment out there. I golfed for 30 years and thought nothing of spending 3 or 4 hundred for a new driver. I also thought $25 for a fishing set up was plenty. I guess it's all relative. I was out yesterday practice casting in the yard with my new toys. I can't wait for the season to start - The Ice is finally starting to melt. Quote
