Super User iceintheveins Posted March 26, 2008 Super User Posted March 26, 2008 I have a $68 dollar quantam baitcast reel paired with a $60 Medium Abu Garcia casting rod. For spinning, I have a $55 dollar sahara spinning reel paired with a $79 BPS spinning rod. I am going to buy a US Spinning Reel that goes for $120 this year, so this ranking will change soon. Quote
Branuss04 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I can't seem to handle paying over $350 for a setup... right now. My most expensive is a Curado 100D paired with a Powell 703CB. Quote
SteveF Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Mine is a Daiwa Steez 103HLA ($450) and a St. Croix Elite EC70MH ($340). That is $790, but my average is around $600 for a casting rod (Daiwa Alpha 103L Type F @ $280 and a St. Croix Elite EC68MXF @ $320). I am however a believer that you are only as good as the equipment you use, and I can say that the rods are probably the most important aspect of my fishing as my bite detection went up by a considerable margin since I purchased my 14 Elites (spinning and casting). Take care all, Steve Quote
ThomasL Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Mine would be my japan stella and the loomis glx it resides on roughly 840.00 total. Now if we talk flyfishing then... Either one of my T&T LPS's with my flyreel over 1000.00!!!all for trout and bream but god it's fun! ;D : Quote
