Not the XMLti rods w/ the recoil guides, but the one under it w/ the Fuji Alconite guides.

I like the looks of both the baitcast & spinning rods in the technique specific w/ spit grips.

Any of you own the XML rods, if so how do you like it? Does it compare to other rods you own in regards to sensitivity & quality?

I talked to a Cabelas sales person last week & he said that the XML will probably go on sale in the next couple weeks. So I am inquiring if you guys like this rod.

I'm looking to get the 6'10" MH baitcast rod, this rod looks like it would be perfect for Bronze Eye frog & similar types of frogs.  Also probably for buzzbaits & jigs...maybe Senkos too.  The other one I am looking at is the 6'9" drop shot spinning rod.

Thanks

I hesitated whether I should post or not, as I have not fished this rod.  However, living 4 minutes from Cabelas, I have held and messed around with them many times.  They are indeed a high quality rod; more so than the BPS higher end rods IMHO.  Apparently very well constructed and attention to detail is great.  I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one.

I own 8 Cabelas XML rods (7 casting and 1 spinning).  I love these rods.  They are very well built and have a pretty good level of sensitivity (better then the Bass Pro Extremes, but I can't speak of any other Bass Pro Rods).  The reel seat has two cut outs where the blank is exposed, which makes the rod comfortable to hold.  You can also add a balancing weight at the end of the rod to get the neutral point right at the reel (which really makes the outfit feel weightless).  The best part about the rod is the warranty.  Anything happens to it for the next 25 years, just take it to Cabelas and they replace it with no questions asked.  I have widdled my rod arsenal to only two rod types, G Loomis and the Cabelas XML (two of the best warranties offered).

I have 5 XML rods ( 4 bait casters and 1 spinning ).  They are great rods.  Killer deal if you can get them on sale.  They have changed the reel seat for 2008.  It is slightly different.  All mine are 2007 models.

My XML is my favorite spinning rod by far.  I even bought a 5'6" casting rod so I can keep it in my truck.  I use it all the time when I fish from the bank.

I'm down to two types of baitcasters.  XML and Diawa L&T.  As stated above the warranty is excellent.

Thanks guys, I bought the 6'10" MH baitcast rod & the 6'9" Medium drop shot spinning rod.  I really like the looks of this rod w/ the split grip.

I checked out the XMLti & wasn't all that impressed w/ the recoil guides.  The XML actually looks better, wish the reel seat was of the XMLti though.

Only real gripe & it's minimal is that the rod information is right on top, not on the bottom like most rods.  I guess I like to have that on the bottom so I don't see it when fishing....like I really pay that much attention! :)
