I was looking through the new Cabelas catalog and noticed the attractive price on the Whuppin' Stick rods. I was trying to determine if one of these would be right for my application. I have a large oriental rug in my living room. In the spring we like to take it outside, hang it up and beat some of the dust out of it. It's fairly large so I was thinking the 7'2" Heavy Spinning model might be the proper choice. Now I know it was designed "to go after tackle busting lunkers" but something tells me it might just be a better rug beater.

I would go with a casting rod instead, the guides are smaller.

I agree.

x2 - the trigger also decreases the chance of slippage thus decreasing the chance of the unhappy wife when you knock her favorite flower pot off the porch.  ;D
