Just got a new rod and while i was opening it scratched a tiny bit of paint of of the rod.  Super small, hair thin and a half an inch long.  Im really uneasy about it. Someone tell me im crazy and it wont effect a thing.

It will depend on were the scratch is located, and if you can see the graphite fibers in the scratch.

If your just not sure send it back, don't hassle with it..... ;)

You are going to have to control your excitment when you're unpacking your new stuff.

Haha I was thinking the same thing! Sounds like you got a little TOO excited. What did you buy?

Yeah I was pretty excited.  Abu Garcia Revo SX with a Bass Pro Extreme 7' MH rod.  Cant wait to try it out.

You're going to love it.  As far as the scratch goes, I'm sure you're fine.  If it does end up breaking, BPS will take it back.
