HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I'm using a Berkley spooling station making sure the spool is centered. Yet every baitcaster always seems to load just a bit more line on the right/handle side of the reel. What can I do to correct this? Or is it just the loose nut behind the spool? Thanks for your advice! Quote
Infidel. Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I don't have any experience with the spooling station, I always spool the reel either in my hand or on the rod but I have run across this issue in the past. Best fix for me is to just hold the line in toward the oposite side of the buildup. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted April 2, 2008 Super User Posted April 2, 2008 Best fix for me is to just hold the line in toward the oposite side of the buildup. Do this at the beginning so that it is burried deep. I always start with 10-15 wraps on the left-hand side. (To the left and out to the middle and then back, not all bunched up on the rim). 8-) Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted April 2, 2008 Super User Posted April 2, 2008 Check out the post at the top of this board (Important Topics) titled "Solutions to common baitcaster problems" written by Reel Mechanic. It's the first problem discussed. Quote

HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Hey guys thanks a bunch! I was truly starting to think it was just me. Extremely appreciated! Quote
Rivera_Red Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I still spool through a Nashville phonebook. But I always start on the left for a few turns. this also seems to "help a little" with casting. Quote
