Ok so this is my first post and it hasn't taken much reading to figure out you all are probably very tired of hearing about the carrot stix rods. That being said, please bear with me. I do not have the funds to purchase rod/reel combos for every application. I have one baitcasting combo that is primarily a soft plastics setup. I am purchasing another setup that I plan on using for both spinnerbaits AND crankbaits. I know this is a somewhat difficult question, but which carrot stix rod would be the better choice for this application...as close to a "happy medium" for throwing both spinners and cranks as can be expected? To make it a little easier, I have narrowed it down to 2 rods: the 6'9" M parabolic and the 6'9" MH fast. Additional Info: the rod will be paired with a Revo SX (which I have already purchased), and I will probably use the combo slightly more for fishing spinnerbaits than crankbaits. I need some good and fairly quick advice because I will be purchasing the rod from Cabelas using a $20-off coupon (which expires on 3/31). And I am aware that these rods are on backorder but I also have a Cabelas gift certificate so it is worth the wait for me to take advantage of the savings. I apologize for the long post, and thanks in advance for all your help.

I own the 6'9" Mh and the 6'9" M-P. If it were me, and I needed a rod to throw spinnerbaits and crankbaits. I would definately choose the M-P. I threw spinnerbaits and crankbaits yesterday with the 6'9" M-P and had no problems, in fact, I loved it. I used the 6'9" MH for throwing soft plastics. I am stll waiting on my Steez, so the Carrot had to be used as a soft plastic rod. It actually performed VERY WELL. You will not be disappointed no matter which rod you choose. With that being said, if it is for cranks or spinners only, I would go with the Medium Parabolic rod. It is an absolute great rod.

Solid advice from JB. I have the 6'9" MH fast, with a Revo SX and I was just messing around with some cranks the other day. I was very happy with the way they performed together. That being said, I wouldn't really think of a MH fast as a great crank/spinnerbait rod...I was just trying it out because I too cannot afford 12 different combos. :)

Also, if you are in a hurry for the rod (and don't feel like waiting on Cabela's) Simmons Sporting Goods in Alabama has them in stock with super fast shipping. Both of my Carrot Stix were here in 3 days.

Thanks for the advice guys. Based on what has been said so far I am leaning toward the 6'9" M-P. However, I would like to get as much input as possible so anyone else with opinions or information on this matter please post.

The 6'9" p rod is my multipurpose rod. I fish cranks, spinners, jerks and topwater swimbaits with the rod and have not been disappointed.

Note: another member recently posted that he ordered a carrot stix from Cabella's, and is looking at a mid-April delivery due to backorder. You may want to consider other dealers. I've seen the rod sell for $120, and at $150 with freight included.
