Super User 5bass Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 Everyone please welcome....."revowarrior" to the Abu Garcia posse! I think he's going to like his new toy, even if he won't ever publicly admit it. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 Welcome RevoWarrior! Now, I would hope somebody will grace us with the detailed story of how it came to be. Considering the main character of the story, I'm sure it will be interesting. Anyway, I think it's great when anyone expands their knowledge base through new products. He's an influential guy and now he'll have even more to share. Quote
Styx Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 This is a red letter day in history. What's next, Sufix line and Carrot Stix rods? Quote
Guest muddy Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 RW was standing outside the lodge, a guy wearing a mask ran buy and haned it to him and kept running ;D Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 I sold all my Shimano reels and now I fish Daiwa, I have never been happier. Quote
Masshole Mike Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 i just happen to have photographic evidence of this said defection. to release the photos could be catastrophic though, so i'll keep them hush hush. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 Just saw it on the weather channel. Hell has officially frozen over! Quote
Shadcranker Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 If he puts some P-Line on it, hell has indeed frozen. Quote
Guest muddy Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 If he puts some P-Line on it, hell has indeed frozen. It will really freeze over if he then rigs an *** Salty *** on it Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 All righty, this is the story: Glenn presented the staff with a token of appreciation, which came as a complete surprise to us all. It is our privilege, individually and as a group, to work with Glenn. At the dinner Wednesday night all the moderators received a Abu Garcia Revo STX. My new reel has replaced a Metanium on my jerkbait rod and I will report back with a side-by-side review after fishing the Revo for awhile. I can tell you that this is a beautiful reel and a very nice gift, which I sincerely appreciate. More, later... 8-) Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 Kent, You are one of the most stereotyped guys here. ...lol Owning one Abu, among "umpteen" Shimanos really doesn't change much... even if he ends up really likeing the Revo. Variety is the spice of life! ...lol Quote
shimanogloomis man Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 idk but i had a revo stx and nothing special to me ill take my shimanos any day Quote

This was totally unexpected, and absolutely not necessary, but he did it anyway. Thank you, Glenn. I'll put it to good use. I'll be able to give you all a review once I've caught a couple of fish with it. Cheers, GK Quote
Super User Alpster Posted March 31, 2008 Super User Posted March 31, 2008 I was a witness and a member of the Shimano posse. We only got to fish for a little while on Friday, but RW threw the Revo quite a bit, even let me & Wayne give it a whirl. It's a beautiful reel, but for me, it takes a while to really put one through it's paces and play with adjustments and line & lure weights to really make my reels perform to their potential. It's almost like they have a personality and you have to get to know them. I will look forward to a detailed review when Kent has fished it for a while. Looking forward to that. Ronnie Quote
