I have a question on the size line for  BC reels. I have been using Quantum reels. They say 150yds of 12lb line. What is the max size line would you use for the reel?  I have 4 KVD reels and 3 Accurist reels. I use these for all types of lures.

the max i would use is 14lb. but thats just me.

once you get past 14lb. it gets pretty thick and stiff and hard to work with.

with braid on the other hand, i would go up to 60, but i'd prefer to use 50.

I use up to 17lb on certain occation's.  But mainly 10-14 on my LP baitcasters, and 20-25 on my SB reels.  For braid I usually stay with 50

I don't go over 14 pound test with mono on anything except catfishing gear. If I need heavier line for heavier cover (even big bass are easy to land on light line if they are away from cover) I will go with power pro braid of at least 20 pound test.

I go no smaller than 12 and no larger than 20.  Usually 17 on everything except for my crankbait rigs that get 8 lb. PLine CXX.

I keep two of mine spooled with 12 lb. mono for soft plastics, cranks, and spinnerbaits, and one spooled with 17 lb. flouro for jigs.

I use 14lb green mono for crankbaits, 50lb braid for frogs, 15lb fluorocarbon for everything else.  I find that my baitcasters perform better with bigger line.  They stink using 10lb line.

Thank you for the information.

The biggest line size I use on Baitcasters is 20lb for mono and fluoro..  Lightest 10lb. 50lb Braid. But I have a friend that uses 30lb mono on his.
