SteveF Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 At what water clarity do you feel that braid cuts back on the number of bites one gets due to line visibility? Is it 6", 1' or 6' or are you a believer that it does not matter? I typically fish the Mississippi River, however on occassion we fish water that you can see crawfish swimming in 15' of water, so when does it matter? Also, how about the properties of the line floating versus sinking like a copolymer or flourocarbon? Does it affect on average (I know times call for a slower fall versus a faster fall), but does it affect the way you fish or the weights you use when it comes to jigs or t rigs? Thanks all, Steve Quote
Super User Marty Posted March 27, 2008 Super User Posted March 27, 2008 I don't know if there is a definitive answer on the braid visibility. I fish a lot of clear water and don't bother with a leader. Of course, that doesn't prove anything other than I personally have confidence that it doesn't make a difference. Quote
